What to Expect

As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role on the Gigafactory Production team. You will lead a dynamic team of Associates and Leads while managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas on the manufacturing floor. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with our manufacturing and operations team, interfacing with Engineering, NPI, and Material Flow, to ensure production goals are being met.

Must be flexible to work the following shifts:

A: 7:00AM – 7:00PM; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday  

B: 7:00AM – 7:00PM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday

C: 7:00PM – 7:00AM; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday 

D: 7:00PM – 7:00AM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday 

What You’ll Do

Build a robust and motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets
Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members
Support issue resolution, including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
Develop & maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members
Tesla people leaders are responsible for various Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to improve operations continuously

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting, preferred 
Experience in selecting and developing new team members
Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Communicate using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface with executives and leaders daily
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
Fluent with standard MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights and weekends, if necessary
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
