What to Expect
The Data Analytics team is looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join the team. The Field Reliability team is responsible for reporting on millions of repair records from service data and is seeking a Data Engineer to lead the organization of this data and support the team of Vehicle Engineers in making data-driven decisions to improve vehicle quality. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data processes, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even redesigning our team’s data architecture to support our ever growing fleet of vehicles and other data initiatives.
The level of this position will be determined at the time of the interview. This position is located in Fremont, CA.
What You’ll Do
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Contribute to the continued automation and standardization of our data ETL
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing queries, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Work with stakeholders including the IT Business Intelligence team to assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs
Create data pipelines for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing their KPI metric dashboards
Construct and manage data workflows and aggregations to support reporting on live data connections
Build visualizations via Tableau, Streamlit and other tools to effectively communicate results
Build robust, flexible and automated software tools to enable complex analysis of fleet data and track fleet behavior to enable proactive monitoring and improve field quality and the customer experience
What You’ll Bring
Degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Data Analytics & Engineering) or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, as well as working familiarity with a variety of database engines
Advanced knowledge of Python w/Pandas
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, etc.
Experience and interest in data visualization techniques (e.g, Tableau, Matplotlib)
Experience using the JIRA ecosystem a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Presto and HBase)
Experience with developing predictive models on time-series data
Experience with quick web application development (e.g. Flask, JQuery, Angular)
