What to Expect
We are looking for a Technical Release Manager to own all aspects of the Tesla Bot software release process. You will make sure teams are aware of various branching strategies, help resolve build system blockages and failures, validate changes on time, resolve blocking issues, and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders. You will handle large branch mergers and frequent software package signoffs. We expect you to be an organized self-starter and a problem solver who can jump in to resolve inefficiencies in the release process.
What You’ll Do
Manage the technical software release workflows end-to-end through collaboration with technical leads, component owners, infrastructure support, QA, and external teams
Track progress toward release signoff completion, manage branch creation, auto-merging, and change control
Handle large branch merges that often require git conflict resolutions and input from multiple engineers across the company
Manage risks and resolve issues related to release scope, schedule, and quality
Maintain a release log with key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and feature descriptions
Implement process improvements to reduce workflow inefficiencies
What You’ll Bring
A desire to move fast, identify blockers and find solutions independently, and fix problems without being asked
Proven track record of being a self-starter and exceptional leadership qualities (i.e., have personally solved difficult problems that have moved the needle on meaningful projects)
Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with JIRA or similar project management software a plus
Experience with git
Experience releasing customer-facing software at scale in a fast-paced work environment a plus
Flexibility to work weekends
