What to Expect
Tesla is currently seeking a Staff Network Security Engineer to join our core-infra team. This role will provide network security design, implementation, and operational support for Tesla’s core infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Work closely with other team members to design, build and maintain, new and existing network security
Create and deploy firewall standards for internet and cloud connectivity
Participate in Security & Network incidents response and remediation
Design, test and deploy network & security solutions following the defined change control process and provide high availability & reliability to network
Requirements gathering, analyze, and propose solution to networking needs
Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of network services
Develop automation methods to rapidly deploy, configure, and update network equipment
Document network knowledge base and operational “Run-Book”
Must be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, holidays. Participate in on call rotation
May require unscheduled after-hours work. 10-20% travel required as necessary
What You’ll Bring
5+ years’ of experience large global enterprise network security infrastructure
Extensive experience with PAN Palo Alto Networks, Juniper or Fortinet firewalls
Experience managing on-prem and cloud firewalls and utilizing security best practices
Experience with firewall management tools and technologies such as, Panorama, Firemon, Prisma access, IPSec, Global Protect VPN
Experience with monitoring and visibility platforms Splunk, NetBox, Kentik and Grafana, Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, IPAM, RADIUS, network taps, and load/stress testing tools
Experience with other networking vendors and technologies is a plus; Arista, Juniper, switching & routing, spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end to end QOS, VRRP, LACP, MLAG, ACLs.
Experience with automation to generate and push config at wide scale and collect performance metrics
