Tesla is seeking a skilled Construction Welder to join our dynamic Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) project team. What You’ll Do
Perform x-ray quality welding in all positions using SMAW and GTAW processes on stainless steel and carbon steel, from schedule 10 to schedule 160
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures
Design and build basic and complex structures, supports, or frameworks, and collaborate with engineers and specialists in the design and fabrication of custom components
Cut various alloys using oxy/acetylene torch and plasma arc processes
Utilize handheld tools such as screw guns, drill guns, and grinders, and operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools
Create specific weldment setups and fixtures to meet geometric requirements
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, and perform additional duties as required, including fitting, installing, bolting pipe and valves, rigging, and assisting other crafts
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of experience as a certified welder in the petrochemical, refinery, or related field
Ability to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 100 ft) and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Proficiency in reading and understanding Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently
Physically capable of carrying up to 50 lbs of tools and/or materials
Willingness to travel to other projects as needed
