What to Expect

We have an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager within our Energy Service NPI team to support the Service Supply Chain across every product line as Tesla Energy scales. A successful candidate will have a strong technical and project management background as well as experience collaborating with broad cross-functional teams. This individual will work closely with Design Engineering, Service Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, and Material Planning teams, acting as a technical project manager ensuring the service parts supply chain readiness for Energy part changes and new product introductions.

What You’ll Do
Lead projects across product families related to one or more energy systems (e.g., Thermal, Electrical, etc.) for Service Supply Chain
Lead new Energy part implementation into Service Supply Chain, partnering with Engineering, Demand Planning, Material Planning and GSM teams
Partner with Design Engineering to develop the Service BOM for new Energy Products, derived from the Engineering BOM and CAD to determine which parts of the Energy Product will be serviced and implemented in the Service Supply Chain
Review all Engineering and Manufacturing Energy Products changes to determine the cost, operations and supply chain impact on the Service organization
Analyze part design changes to determine supersession and backwards compatibility relationships and collaborate with Design Engineering to implement changes to reduce supply chain complexity
Collaborate with Service Engineers and Engineering Technicians to test new designs for serviceability
Perform End of Life part analyses to reduce obsolescence and identify the most cost-effective supply continuity strategies, and work with the planning and commercial teams to implement
Support quality and reliability analysis efforts as well as shepherd part design iteration
Create, structure and maintain Service BOMs and part attribute data
Act as an advocate and technical liaison for the Service organization in Design Engineering and Manufacturing NPI activities
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering or equivalent experience
Project Management experience balancing time across several projects, working cross-functionally with technical, operational and supply chain teams
Experience analyzing Engineering design changes and working with complex Bills of Material (BOMs)
CAD experience (CATIA preferred) a plus
Energy industry and supply chain experience related to design, manufacturing, and Energy repair a plus
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Enovia or other PLM system experience a plus
Open-minded self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment, and to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, adapt, improvise and problem solve
