What to ExpectThe Spares Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to engineering and maintenance through the distribution of spare parts. They will be tasked with manning a spare parts warehouse where they will be responsible for fulfilling parts orders, receiving parts, inventory management (cyclecounting), and warehouse maintenance. Spares Technician will be responsible for following up with any part anomalies with vendors, assisting maintenance with part searches and educating them regarding Spares policies. The Spares Technician will contribute to the Spares Mission, “To be the trusted provider of high-quality spare parts, setting the Tesla standard for reliability and customer satisfaction.” This team is part of the Industrial Engineering team.What You’ll Do Warehouse processing: Receiving, stocking, dispatching, returns processing, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system configuration, etc. Inventory management: Auditing, root cause analysis and troubleshooting of discrepancies, closing loop with suppliers, adding new parts, etc. Inventory planning: Quoting (RFQ – Request For Quote), purchasing, optimization of stocks, etc. Developing and maintaining cross-functional partnerships with Operations, Engineering, and Procurement Using Tesla-developed ERP systems to achieve success Transforming and improving departmental processes and policy through project work and continuous improvement All other activities as assignedWhat You’ll Bring Track record of excellence in current and prior roles Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines Ability to lift 30-50 lbs on a daily basis Preferred or desired qualifications: prior spare parts, material planning/ERP, material handling, reliability, maintenance, and/or inventory control experience Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
