What to Expect
Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around January 2025 and continue through the entire Spring/Winter term (i.e through April 2025) or into Summer 2025 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Your application for the Vehicle Hardware Engineering Internship – Thermal Engineering it will be considered across all opportunities for the teams listed below:
The Electronic Systems & Autopilot Thermal team is responsible for thermal management of multiple electronics components across Tesla platforms as well as off-vehicle projects. We will provide training and mentorship for our interns, and the expectation is that they can work independently, take responsibility, and can adapt to our fast-paced and dynamic work environment
The Autopilot/DOJO Thermal team is responsible for the design, production, and deployment of the Tesla AI training supercomputer. Thermal systems engineering designs and delivers state of the art cooling systems for the DOJO supercomputer.
What You’ll Bring
Currently pursing a Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or thermals-related field
Strong understanding of fundamentals of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
Experience in building test rigs and experimental work
Experience in CFD and developing numerical models of thermal/fluid systems is an asset at any level

Working knowledge of thermal control and monitoring
