What to Expect

Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start around January or February 2025 and continue through the entire Spring term (i.e. through May 2025) or into Spring/Summer 2025, if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the Team 

Our team is focused on optimizing the space we have, finding the best solutions to our immediate term expansion needs, and devising and driving our long-term strategy. All of this under the guiding principle of sustainability. You’ll be working cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering while tracking the project schedule and overall success.

What You’ll Do

Your application for the Architecture and Structural Engineer Internships will be considered across all opportunities for the teams listed below:

 

Architecture and Design:

This intern will support the team with the execution of the design development process from test fit, concept design, management of survey and due diligence with external consultants. They will also support coordination of all technical and business needs required from stakeholders and transform them into a concept drawing based on site-specific conditions. Additionally, interns on this team will support prototype team with prototype updates and block development as needed, as well as support review construction documents and shop drawings.

Structural Engineer:

As an intern on this team, you will support the design and construction of a variety of new and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our high-tech facilities across the U.S. You will also work with multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, piping/Plumbing (MEP) Civil and Architectural professionals. You will conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations. This intern will make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement. Additionally, you will complete field work independently or with the design team and support preparation of design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit.
What You’ll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
Previous internship and project experience is a plus but not required
Ability to work independently
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through drawings/sketches
For Architecture interns: Working knowledge of US building codes
For Architecture interns: Proficient in Revit, & familiar with AutoCAD. Additional software competencies are a plus
For Structural interns: Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed
For Structural interns Experience with Revit, Revit Structural, RISA 3D, RAM or ETABs
For Structural interns: Primary structural coursework completed prior to start of internship
