What to Expect
The Tesla Bot team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the development of various controller PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and other electronics hardware. This TPM will handle creating and managing subsystem program timelines, closely collaborating with design engineering teams to define scopes to meet goals and hit various milestones in a fast-paced environment. A champion of cost / quality / time impact matrix to make decisions easier for relevant stakeholders without compromising speed.
What will you be doing – leading cross functional alignment meetings, helping translate requirements into actions, providing insights into internal and external lead times to set realistic expectations, supporting supply chain teams to procure samples for various builds will be amongst the day-to-day tasks for this role.
What You’ll Do
Manage PCBA and associated hardware product development programs from end-to-end for Tesla robot, working closely with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, Integration, Distribution, Mechanical, Sensing, Thermal, Firmware, Test, Reliability, Sourcing, Supplier Industrialization, and New Product Introduction
Motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment
Work collaboratively with engineering leads to set goals while tracking deliverables on timelines and otherwise, communicate and secure resources, align on strategies to meet program needs
Find creative ways to mitigate program risks and meet the schedule despite setbacks
Communicate Engineering requirements between Supply Chain and Purchasing to facilitate material planning, interface with sub-tier suppliers as and when needed to unblock sample builds
Constantly evolve our processes towards increasing precision and dependability, while keeping the agility that has gotten Tesla where we are now
Lead your teams with strength and confidence through rapid development cycles, changing requirements, and uncertainty
What You’ll Bring
Ability to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment
3+ years of experience in technical program management or project leadership, preferably in a robotics / electronics hardware field
Bachelor’s Degree, with Master’s degree preferred, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience and proof of exceptional abilities
Strong documentation and organizational skills, with the ability to drive progress on multiple tracks independently
Ability to work cross functionally between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance personnel with strong communicational skills
