A key technical member of a cross functional team that focuses on evaluating, defining & executing battery storage opportunities with cutting edge technologies. You will be responsible for the execution of projects from the design phase through to commissioning, while managing all engineering activities to ensure successful projects. The Tesla Energy team is committed, and fast moving. We are a group of Applications Engineers, Power Systems Engineers, and Project Engineers that sit at the center of business development, Tesla technology, and the deployment of stationary storage projects on the grid. As a member of our team, you will help to shape the success of our projects in various applications worldwide. What You’ll Do
Application of electrical engineering principles to identify issues & develop solutions relating to Battery Energy Storage projects
Work cross-functionally to ensure all engineering activity is progressing as needed to ensure successful projects
Responsible for project ownership and execution, which requires understanding/managing the scope and schedule and keeping all parties in sync
Interface with internal customers (project managers, product engineers, sales team) and external customers (utilities, AHJs, contractors, end customers) to ensure consistent communication
Identify gaps in scope and responsibility to ensure project success. This requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts and rules of conduct
Generate single line drawings, communication wiring diagrams, and Powerpack & Megapack system layouts for Battery Energy Storage projects
This is diverse role where knowledge of basic design rules, constructability, permitting, utility requirements, and engineering fundamentals is expected. Expectations include a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality. What You’ll Bring
Degree in an Eengineering discipline or 3-5 years relevant experience as an Electrical/Project Engineer
Power Systems, Electronics & CAD Skills are preferred
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel
Knowledge of development of the electrical construction drawing set are advantageous
Knowledge of relevant standards and electrical studies for utility applications are advantageous
Knowledge of Controls, Networking, SCADA are advantageous
Experience in Renewables, PV, Battery storage, EPC, Generation system design, Microgrids
