Tesla is looking for an experienced Security Engineering Designer / BIM Modeller who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and assisting in managing security systems for our facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a customer-facing attitude and have a strong background in security systems engineering, experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), and proficiency in low voltage system design including one-line diagrams. Experience with Dynamo and Python to assist with automation tools is highly desirable.

What You’ll Do
Develop and design security systems, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems using BIM software, create and manage BIM models for security system design and coordination
Create detailed security engineering drawings, specifications, and models, including low voltage one-line diagrams
Collaborate with other engineering and design disciplines to integrate security systems into overall building designs
Utilize Dynamo and other automation tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of BIM modeling and security system design
Ensure that all security designs comply with Tesla’s standards and industry regulations
Design and document low voltage systems, including one-line diagrams for security systems, ensuring all low voltage designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements
Work closely with project managers to deliver security system designs on time and within budget
Provide technical support, including site visits and inspections
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on security system design and implementation
Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholsers to ensure the successful implementation of security systems
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Security Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in security system design and BIM modeling or a related field
Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, etc.)
Experience with Dynamo and automation tools
Strong understanding of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection
Experience in designing low voltage systems and creating one-line diagrams
Familiarity with design standards and regulatory requirements related to security systems and low voltage design
Excellent project management and organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Strong, internal customer-oriented communication skills, both written and verbal
