What to Expect
This position will work as a member of Tesla’s Engineering Test Team to support vibration & road simulation testing for Reliability and Durability tests performed in-house. The primary objective of this role is to setup, maintain and conduct component and system level tests in accordance with Tesla procedures. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in fabrication and system level maintenance and testing.
What You’ll Do
Support both vehicle & component level tests on simulation rigs ( single axis electrodynamic shaker tables, MTS-329 road simulator, and MTS Multi axis simulation (MAST) ): test setup, detailed inspections, scheduling, maintenance and retrofits
Root cause and report: Document and report issues identified during test or inspections. Collaborate with engineers to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered. Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stake holders during weekly meetings
Support Engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and logging
General test equipment maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Basic machine shop skills desired with welding skills a plus
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused and have the ability to manage his/her time to juggle multiple tasks and to prioritize tasks
Ability to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods of time
Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and maintain a safe working environment
