What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced individual to oversee production of submission to regulatory information requests and investigations globally. Desired candidate will be responsible for the review and assurance of complete and complaint response as well as the on-time submission to all regulatory investigations and requests for information from regulators across the globe including but not limited to NHTSA (US), DPAC (China), TC (Canada), RDW (Netherlands), KBA (Germany), DVSA (United Kingdom), VSCC (Taiwan), and MLIT (Japan). Candidate will coordinate with Demands and Investigation Analyst and designated teams for each investigation or information request to assure complete and compliant response to each individual point of both formal and informal information requests. Candidate will be responsible for providing confirmation of assurance that all questions and sub-points have been responded to or have recorded information explaining otherwise as agreed to with respective regulator. Candidate will conduct periodic meetings on status of documentation completion and follow-up on all pending investigations and information requests. Responsibility will also include drafting response communication for leadership and legal review.
What You’ll Do
Account for each point and sub-point of all regulatory requests for information and investigations
Establish a notification of assurance for legal and leadership communicating complete response and readiness for submission
Work collaboratively with Demands and Investigation Analyst on assurance of complete response for all points and sub-points of all submissions
Escalate items inhibiting the completion of tasks and putting submission at risk to direct supervisor
Work directly with Engineering, Service, Production, Quality, Data Analysis and Legal to support coordination and completion of tasks to meet submission deadlines
Work directly with Data Analysis team to confirm fully responsive vehicle lists and fleet data sets
Participate as a member of respective teams in contributing to investigations and completion of tasks with assigned owners and subject matter experts
Review information collection to assure information set is complete and fully responsive for submission
Identify and create standardized processes to improve efficiency and quality of regulatory responses
What You’ll Bring
Degree or equivalent experience
5-10 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing environment
Experience with Code of Federal Regulations and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
Ability to exercise business and financial judgment with strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills
Preferably, having an engineering or technical background, and/or significant transportation or vehicle experience
General understanding of Tesla vehicle systems (HV Battery, Drive Unit, Chassis, LV Hardware, Firmware, Safety and Restraints, Auto-Pilot)
Strong people skills and positive “can do” attitude
Self-starter, motivated, eager to learn and guided by a strong moral compass
