As a Senior Contracts Specialist, you will help and support the strategic sourcing and procurement team in drafting and negotiating contracts and other legal documents which effectively govern sourcing of Target’s indirect commodity needs for Target in India as well as global indirect spend. You will assist in establishing negotiation processes to drive the best value and mitigate risk for Target India.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support in Contract Drafting & Negotiation with suppliers for Target in India as well as global agreements
Support to Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers
Review and negotiate procurement-related agreements including Master Service Agreements, Scope of Work, License Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Local Affiliate Agreements, Change Requests, Letter of Intent and Consultant/work-for-hire agreements.
Negotiate with Supplier and their legal teams to execute legal agreements
Provide ad-hoc legal advices for business and internal teams
Assist in Developing and negotiating contract to position Target with maximum leverage for negotiating best-in-class service level performance guidelines for effective vendor performance within service contracts
Reporting and governance requirements for contract management

Contract Management

Proactively leverage identified risk management practices that protect Target from unanticipated risk or financial exposure through due diligence, contracts, and vendor management
Support Contract life cycle and internal tools for extracting reports.
Consider and negotiate required service levels based on business requirements for effective performance and within service contracts
Advise and recommend new ways to negotiate upcoming contracts, leveraging prior contract management experience, industry benchmarking, and corporate-wide contract best practices

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to Sourcing Director
Builds strong relationship between sourcing, legal and other business teams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

6-8 years of total work experience, preferably in commercial supplier/vendor contracts and legal teams.
Relevant educational qualifications
Good interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills
Experience negotiating solutions with stakeholders to meet business objectives
Ability to clearly identify and communicate stakeholder needs, technical aspects of primary requirements, and the procurement process
Global contract review and negotiation is a plus
Proficiency in contract management tools is a plus
