The pay range is $89,700.00 – $161,500.00

Position Summary:
The Senior Regulatory Manager for Product and Packaging is responsible for supporting the Owned Brand (OB) teams in understanding and addressing upcoming rules, bans, standards, and regulations (RBSR) that have a direct impact on Target’s OB products. This role involves proactively collaborating with the government affairs (GA) teams to convey Target’s perspective on proposed regulations, bans, or rules.
Additionally, the Senior Regulatory Manager for Product and Packaging works closely with cross-functional partners (CFT) to develop strategies for implementing RBSR and ensure compliance. This includes monitoring and staying informed of changes in regulations and taking necessary actions to ensure that Target’s OB products meet all applicable requirements.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for staying current with all relevant regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends that may impact Target’s Owned Brand assortment.
Provides regulatory leadership and expertise to various cross-functional teams, including packaging, quality, OB development, and commercialization teams.
Analyzes and synthesizes the impact of rules, bans, standards, and regulations (RBSR) on Target’s products, packaging, policies, and procedures.
Collaborates with Owned Brand teams to develop and implement regulatory strategies that align with business objectives.
Works closely with the Legal team to ensure a complete and accurate understanding of upcoming rules, regulations, standards, and bans.
Writes and presents position statements to both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensures that Target meets all regulatory requirements by working with QA/ Labs and other relevant teams.
Provides technical direction and guidance to both internal team members and external partners regarding upcoming regulations.
Develops and maintains cross-functional relationships to ensure Target’s readiness for compliance with rules, bans, standards, and regulations.
Coordinates and delivers appropriate training to applicable internal and external partners, as needed.
Develops and documents internal and external processes and drives continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborates with external Industry Associations and attends conferences to network and benchmark within the industry.
About you:
8+ years of relevant experience managing risk, Compliance and/or other related programs
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or Technical disciplines, Textiles/Textile Engineering; or Legal training, Attorney/Paralegal; or Compliance; or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Regulatory processes
Ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport and collaborate effectively, internally and externally, across all levels of an organization.
Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to leverage data to influence decisions, identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to changing, ambiguous or competing priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to construct professional level documentation and reporting that meets the expectations of legal, audit, regulatory compliance and other stakeholders
Highly organized, with strong detail orientation
Digital mindset (understanding of technology’s role in business processes and experience in using data and analytical tools, including Excel, to solve business problems a plus)
Collaborative focus and ability to work successfully across functional areas.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
