Senior Manager, Sourcing

Duties:
Identify
agronomy opportunities and develop action plans. Guide the development of annual crop projections by geographic region and potential vendor shifts based on grower capability and sourcing opportunities. Coordinate with team hubs when necessary to ensure a seamless transition between growing regions. Work with suppliers to
validate
the correct process of packaging and quality of fruit.
Identify
, develop, and
maintain
grower relationships that meet company financial, ethical, and sustainability standards by assessing and developing vendor production, distribution, and technological capabilities to ensure adequate supply for global produce. Engage merchandising and cross functional teams to assure
a seamless
execution. Collaborate with merchants and buyers to
determine
promoted products based on quality and consumer demand. Define long-term and multi-product strategy by
identifying
preferred varietals and geographical regions to meet long term multi-country specific product needs. Coordinate across all markets, multi-product annual plans, quantity needs, quality needs, and cost needs.
This position does not supervise other employees.
Minimum education and experience
required
:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Engineering (any), or related area and 2 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, planning, finance, or related area; OR Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Engineering (any), or related area.
Skills required:
Must have experience with:
Fresh fruits and vegetables industry, including production areas and regulatory national and international frameworks; Negotiating with growers and suppliers in Latin America; Developing strategic supplier and service provider partnerships; Monitoring and engaging global supplier base to maintain highest compliance standards; Gathering procurement data related to prices, crop volume, market share, sales, crop estimations, tendencies, and costs from different data sources to generate valuable information for stakeholders; Major international produce markets in terms of consumer demands, quality standards, barriers, and logistic infrastructure; Analyzing and resolving conflicts in the whole supply chain in the fresh produce industry, including bad fruit arrival conditions, logistics disruptions, wrong labeling, breaks in the cold chain, and phytosanitary recalls; Performing financially assessment projects and their impact in terms of sales and P&L Technical and quality features of grapes, blueberries, and avocados; Industry and retail business for grapes, blueberries, and avocados.
