Duties:
Supports code development for eCommerce projects by participating in project team meetings to develop project plans; reviewing project requirements to determine coding needs; providing insight to software developers regarding project quality requirements; and providing guidance regarding code development to ensure testability and reliability. Performs quality assurance testing for large-scale, eCommerce web applications, tools, and software by collaborating with project teams to establish test cases and requirements; writing test cases (for example, white, gray, or black box) and system test scenarios in accordance with project requirements and established standards; clarifying and updating test cases; obtaining test case approval from the project team; applying test case instructions to products under testing; executing test cases; evaluating results against expected results; and updating project teams regarding results and needed fixes. Participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; assisting in the writing and developing of code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to appropriate team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and ensuring on-time delivery and handoffs. Develops software quality assurance (SQA) project plans by determining project scope and level-of-effort (LOE) estimates; determining data and environmental requirements; identifying dependencies and risks; identifying necessary resources (for example, staff, equipment); and outlining quality assurance deliverables and deadlines. Provides solutions for coding errors by collaborating with software developers to review coding algorithms; developing unit testing plans to test code; developing testing requirements based on code functionality; analyzing testing results to determine needed fixes; evaluating errors to identify trends; performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; querying application logs and databases and checking configuration files to troubleshoot issues encountered during testing; resolving code errors; and recommending code fixes or solutions for testing errors.
Minimum education and experience required:
Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience in quality engineering or related experience OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience in quality engineering or related experience.
Skills required:
Must have experience with: Coding in Object Oriented Language – Java and python; Implementing and Deploying applications on J2EE application servers like Maven, Apache Tomcat, Looper, Bamboo, Ant; Testing Web applications with automation frameworks Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, TestNG, Protractor, Cypress, Java Script, Unit; Using SQL for CRUD operations with different databases including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL; Using applications from cloud services such as Azure Cloud for daily application including Cosmos DB, App Insights, Azure VSTS; Performing API Testing (Rest and SOAP services), Using different tools like Postman, SOAP UI and REST Assured; Testing automation frameworks using Cucumber BDD, Maven, TestNG, Rest Assured, Gherkin Extent Report, and Log4j; IDEs used for coding including Eclipse, Intellij; Utilizing Jenkins, GitHub, looper and Azure Pipelines for the runtime environment of the CI/CD system to build, test deploy and version control; Performing various software testing such as Acceptance, Smoke, Functional, Regression, UAT, End to End, Security, Sanity and Agile testing by following STLC processes; Using automation tools such as HP UFT, HP QTP for testing desktop applications; Working on various Web Technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular JS, Node JS, XML, JSON for API services including REST and SOAP; Creating and maintaining Test Suite, Test cases, Test scenarios, Test Execution sets, Defects and test Preparation using JIRA, Xray, MS Excel, SharePoint and google sheets; Involving in load and performance testing using Jmeter, Load Runner; Monitoring, defect tracking and alerts used Splunk, Azure APP insights, JIRA-Xray, confluence, Bugzilla; and Utilizing AWS applications including Device Farm, IAM, CLI, EC2, S3, SQS, Dynamo DB and other AWS services for testing and validating Cloud applications.
