Position Summary…
What you’ll do…
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead our Case Ready Beef Plant operations in Olathe, KS. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring compliance with Walmart’s code of conduct, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of production staff to achieve plant goals and objectives.
Ensure all production processes are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with Walmart’s code of conduct and food safety regulations.
Develop and implement production schedules, production reports, and other documents as needed.
Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manage and control production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Ensure all products meet Walmart’s quality standards and are delivered on time to customers.
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and sales, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all safety and health regulations and policies.
Develop and implement training programs for production staff to improve skills and knowledge.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering employees to identify and implement improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in food science, engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a production management role in a dairy plant or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and Walmart’s code of conduct.
Proven track record of leading and managing teams to achieve production goals and objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
Experience working in a manufacturing facility or a related industry.
Knowledge of ERP systems and other production management software.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$139,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, food science, engineering, business management, or related area and 5 years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in a manufacturing environment.
Option 2: 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, food processing or dairy processing.

10 years’ experience in Safe Quality Foods (SQF) or other Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) formats, Clean in Place/Clean Out of Place (CIP/COP) and other sanitation equipment, writing and maintaining standard operating procedures, or writing and maintaining Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
