The
Lead Counsel
for Technology Commercialization will lead and direct legal advice to clients in Global Technology and other business teams, domestically and internationally, and enable the business to reach its priorities and goals. The position will further manage significant legal issues related to emerging technology and provide legal advice and strategic direction to leadership in the organization.
1. Manage Global Expansion of the Commerce Technology Team:
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance cross jurisdictions, especially related to digital trust (including privacy), and key business terms
Provide expert legal advice to senior management and other stakeholders on data privacy issues related to global expansion, including emerging legal trends and potential impact on the business
Collaborate with various teams, such as compliance, tax, export-control, employment legal, office of the corporate secretary, marketing, and operations, to ensure that digital trust and data privacy considerations are integrated into business processes and expansion plans
2. Data Contract Strategy and Policy Development:
Develop and implement a comprehensive data contract strategy for the team, aligning it with the overall data privacy and security strategy for the organization
Create and refine data contract templates and standard clauses to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable data protection laws and industry best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Global Tech, procurement, and business clients, to establish guidelines and policies for data contract negotiations and management
3. Complex Contract Review and Negotiation:
Handle complex and high-profile data-related contracts, such as those involving large-scale data processing, international data transfers, or data-sharing arrangements with strategic partners
Review and negotiate contracts with a focus on managing legal risks, protecting the organization’s data assets, and ensuring compliance with privacy and security requirements
Provide expert legal advice to the organization’s leadership and stakeholders on data contract matters, including potential legal implications and risk assessments
What you’ll bring….
Proven experience leading and managing attorneys and paralegals
Experience working with complex legal issues related to technology contracts both domestically and abroad
Ability to empower your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals within a corporate environment
Proven track record of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00
Sunnyvale, California US-04397/Sunnyvale, California US-04396/Sunnyvale, California US-08479:The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
