Staff Software Engineer

Duties:
Design and build core platform used by Walmart to gather competitive information from the web. Design and review software methodologies for any new business initiatives. Design and build large scale multi-tenant system which uses machine learning models to optimize data flow and enhance business outcomes. Collaborate with other cross functional teams in Walmart to understand business functionalities that can be fulfilled by competitive data and insights and provide end to end support in creating new business opportunities for the team. Work with associates on technical and non-technical aspects to scale business operations and imbibe strong engineering culture in Walmart.
Minimum education and experience required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years of experience in software engineering or related area
OR
Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required:
Experience with continuous integration and deployment of new or existing software using Concord, Proximity and OneOps. Experience with NoSQL data stores including Cassandra and Solr. Experience with Azure Cloud stack including Cosmos, Service Bus, Blob Store, and Data Factory. Experience with Linux and Bash systems to install dependencies and debug issues for applications deployed on Linux subsystems. Experience with programming languages including Java, Python, Scala, Ruby, and Bash. Experience in data retrieval and processing languages including Python, SQL, and Scala. Experience with Kubernetes platform and usage of Cloud Native Platforms including Service Mesh. Experience in telemetry frameworks including Prometheus, Grafana, and Kafka Lenses. Experience with distributed messaging systems including Kafka. Experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL. Experience with Web languages including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.

Salary Range:
$150,762/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
