Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.The Space Simulation team will provide screening and testing of satellite hardware. The lab has the capability to perform testing in the R&D, Proto-Flight, Qualification and Flight test phases. This will be done utilizing equipment in the lab such as electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers and other equipment to simulate the space environment.As a Space Simulation Lab Support Technician, you will be responsible for performing various tasks throughout the facility. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced, start-up like environment. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.Key job responsibilities- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations- Assemble and test with emphasis to detail an assortment of avionic, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and related hardware- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated- Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems- Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory- You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables- Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)- Your work may include contributing to improving work instructions and safety proceduresAdditional Requirements:- Willing to work all shifts (days, evenings, staggered shifts) overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM Mon-Thurs- Flexible working/commuting in between site locations- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position- Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassistedCandidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $26.00/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure.
