DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a strategic, high-judgement, and opportunistic professional to join its Buy with Prime and Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment team in Seattle, WA, or Arlington, VA. As a Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing communications programs designed to drive Buy with Prime and Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment forward.
Buy with Prime and Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment helps DTC merchants overcome challenges with acquiring new shoppers, driving conversion, and ensuring quick and reliable delivery to their customers. You will lead strategy for launches and momentum announcements, regularly engage with a wide range of trade publications, and support notable industry events, among other activities. In this role, you will collaborate cross functionally with Legal, Public Policy, and other teams.
You will have B2C or B2B PR experience, preferably in the retail or logistics space; a solid appetite for storytelling; a proven track record of developing successful PR plans, identifying timely coverage opportunities, and executing proactive media campaigns; and experience working with multiple teams and PR agencies. You should be able to drive strategy and think at a high level, demonstrate good judgement, display poise and sophistication in rapid-moving situations, pay close attention to details, and be able to manage multiple internal and external priorities at once.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive proactive media coverage and manage reactive media inquiries for Buy with Prime and Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment.
• Provide on-going PR support to the business, including everything from program changes, to issues and escalations.
• Regularly offer strategic communications counsel and guidance to senior-level executives at Amazon.
• Collaborate across internal teams and agency partners to drive strategies to deliver on objectives and measure the impact of communications programs.
• Coordinate with third party business partners on upcoming announcements and other joint initiatives.
• Write and execute communications plans and press materials in support of launches and innovations to pitch and secure media coverage.
• Engage and build relationships with reporters from key media outlets.
• Write, develop, and manage approvals for communications and external messaging.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the business as needed.
• Keep current on broader industry trends, news, and other relevant topics.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
– Bachelor’s degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
