Would you like to own developing and managing relationships with Venture Capital firms, identifying and working with the highest potential startups, and ensuring AWS is fully engaged in working effectively with them? Do you have the business savvy, technical insight, relationship development skills, to mesh with the venture-backed startup ecosystem to help further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud computing?
As a Venture Capital Business Development Manager within AWS, you will have an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on the strategy to build mindshare and broaden the use of Amazon’s cloud computing platform with venture-backed startups. Your responsibilities will include driving the necessary business insights, strategic and technical relationships with venture firms and their portfolio companies, to establish meaningful business relationships. You will work closely with the AWS sales, technical and partner teams to drive strategic interactions with startups to build long-term business opportunities. You’ll work closely with AWS services business development, product management and marketing teams on strategic initiatives that align with AWS goals in the startup community. You will also act as a critical interface to the startup ecosystem for all facets of AWS and Amazon.
The ideal candidate will possess both a business background and experience that enables them to drive engagement, and effectively interact at the Venture Partner/CxO/VP level startup executives, as well as a technical background that allows them to effectively engage with software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and bias for action is a must. They will also possess a passion for new and emerging technologies and how they can shape the future.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Serve as a key member of the Startup Business Development team in helping to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy in the startup ecosystem.
· Develop and manage relationships with top venture firms to educate them on how AWS can help their companies scale and grow by leveraging AWS services and go-to-market programs.
· Work with venture partners and associates as their single point of contact for all things AWS and Amazon, helping them understand AWS’ benefits and where there may be exciting opportunities for their startups.
· Work closely with many of the hottest startups to ensure they are successfully engaging with the AWS platform, making sure they have the technical and business resources required for optimal customer experience, and identifying additional opportunities for them to work more deeply with AWS and other Amazon business units.
· Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., services teams, marketing, legal, customer support, sales, etc.).
· Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management teams regarding progress on and roadblocks to achieving AWS’ goals in the startup ecosystem.
· Work with and advise account management teams on solution selling and establishing executive relationships in their accounts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
– 10+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
– Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
