The Safari and WebKit team is looking for a web developer advocate to help drive the future of the web platform at Apple. Our web evangelists are integral to prioritizing web platform engineering work, announcing new features and fixes, voicing the needs of developers in the web standard process, and much more.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the web, who loves empowering web designers and developers to do their best work, and who ultimately champions the people who use the web.

WebKit is Apple’s web content rendering engine, integrated with iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. WebKit powers Safari, Mail, Books and more — plus over a million third-party apps of all kinds. Through open source, WebKit renders web content for browsers on Linux, gaming consoles, digital signage, and much more.

Our web evangelism team has a key opportunity to influence the future direction of web browsers and web technologies across Apple’s platforms. We create content for web designers and developers, including articles, videos, podcast episodes, demos, social media posts, and more. We connect individually with third-party developers to provide guidance and engineering support. We engage in public with developers and designers, present at conferences and meetups, and co-produce WWDC sessions, developer events/labs, and more.

Bachelor’s degree, training in creative/technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of experience in developer relations activities or similar is preferred.Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills.A track record of teaching (informal or formal), presenting, marketing, branding, or other forms of storytelling.Ability to rapidly research and learn something new, then translate and convey that information in a form other people easily understand.Experience with community engagement and audience building.Experience with front-end and back-end web technologies, potentially including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web APIs, media, accessibility, and third-party frameworks.Collaboration, interpersonal, and organizational abilities with the capacity to track and manage numerous parallel activities.
