Are you a curious thinker? Do you love the challenge of developing the next generation breakthrough wireless technology? Join our Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems (WTE) team and drive innovation that enrich people’s lives and deliver the best user-experience! We’re a passionate and key team that design, develop and integrate cellular chipsets in Apple products. You will join a hands-on software development team that nurtures creativity and generates novel solutions to deliver engineering perfection. As a Cellular Layer-1 Control Software Engineer on this team, you will be at the heart of the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular software effort within a silicon design group responsible for designing and productizing state-of-the-art cellular SoCs. You will be working on all aspects of embedded software development in a fast-paced, multi-functional organization, with opportunities to debate ideas openly within the team and with cross functional groups, and to be sharp and adaptable to constantly evolving requirements to develop efficient, high performance world-class software architecture design.
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
– Specify, design, and implement PHY Layer1 Software/Firmware of a state-of-the-art mobile wireless communications system for 4G/5G and beyond.
– Implement Layer1 scheduling and control processing in tight timeline, latency, and power constraints, including RF control, power savings and concurrency handling.
– Work with Software designers and Systems team to define operations and interfaces to PHY, RF, MAC, Dataplane, RRC and protocol stack subsystems.
– PHY Layer1 Software architecture design, development and optimizations.
– Development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms for L1 FW design and verification.
– Evaluate and implement innovative tools for build, formal verification, and test.
