The ECAD Engineering Tools & Solutions Org is responsible for building outstanding workflows for board design at Apple. We develop new methods to analyze complex designs to enable the quality assessment of our products before manufacturing. This multi-functional role will collaborate across the enterprise with hardware engineering collaborators and teammates to specify, develop and support solutions to improve the efficiency and productivity of the best hardware engineering team on the planet, helping to better realize and deliver Apple’s leading hardware products.

With a background in Electrical Engineering, the ideal candidate will contribute to a large range of projects, focused on Schematic authoring, system design, design reliability and PCB design. Responsibilities include but not limited to defining requirements and workflows for reliability, system design and the design release process to PLM. The candidate will draw upon strong analysis, communication and problem-solving skills to drive creative, impactful and efficient solutions, helping our hardware design teams deliver their best work.
The key responsibilities of the CAD Engineer will include:
– Defining workflows to predict failures due to component behavior early in the design
– Working with the engineers to debug issues during the design process.
– Developing a regression infrastructure to test and rollout new workflows/solutions and suggest design metrics that can be tracked.
– Working with multi-functional partners to define use cases, brainstorm solutions and generate product requirements.
– Acting as domain expert and promote innovative ideas to the hardware engineering community.
– Working with vendors to ensure that our Apple’s needs are understood and met.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.At least 6 years of industrial experience developing workflows and working with EDA tools like Spice, System Capture with a deep understanding of system design methodologies.
