As a part of the IP Special Deals & Analytics team, you’ll navigate complex IP issues around the world that cross legal, engineering, and operational disciplines, while upholding the highest ethical standards. We’re seeking a senior legal counsel to join Apple’s IP Special Deals & Analytics team. You’ll join a team of technical, financial, and legal experts to drive strategy for some of the most complex IP issues facing Apple. Your role will require you to work cross-functionally with other business and legal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
– Negotiating, valuing, and drafting IP license, acquisition, and settlement agreements.
– Identifying key areas of IP risk and opportunity, and developing innovative ways to address them.
– Curating and providing centralized IP data and intelligence to inform decision-making and strategy.
– Developing comprehensive diligence and analysis for incoming IP disputes.
– Working closely with Apple’s IP Litigation and IP Transactions teams, as well as outside counsel and experts, to develop royalty and valuation theories.
– Crafting partnerships with Apple’s Operations, Finance, and other teams to develop and drive IP dispute strategies.
– Influencing critical business decisions related to IP deals and negotiation with data-driven analysis and innovative approaches.
8+ years experience at a top law firm, in-house legal department, and/or patent transactions entity.In-depth experience independently managing complex, multi-party IP disputes and transactions, both in litigation and outside of litigation.Deep knowledge of patent license and other IP transactions agreement principles.JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
