Apple

Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something.

Apple is looking for a highly motivated senior hardware development engineer to join Display Technologies Organization to work on technology development of new display and optical module architectures for future Apple products.

The engineer will be working in a highly technical, multi-disciplinary, fast paced team from Apple’s Module Technology Center (MTC). The candidate is expected to work efficiently and smartly to bringup new module concepts and technologies to enable next generations of product architectures. Projects will require abilities to plan systemically for technology proof-of-concept work, doing hands-on experimentation and prototyping without sacrificing quality or attention to detail, and transferring scalable solutions to MP product teams. This is a hands-on interdisciplinary development role that will require versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment.

Define technical work scope, drive technical directions, and make systematic development plan to establish fundamental engineering learnings and meet product interception schedule.

Initiate new module technologies to enable challenging design architectures in display and optics.

Hands-on design, build, test, and refine hardware prototypes and systems in MTC’s labs to enable critical technology proof-of-concept and convergence.

Hands-on drive process development in MTC’s labs, including resource and DOE planning, empirical validation trials, data analysis and visualization, parameter optimization, and realistic risk assessment.

Collaboratively work with cross-functional teams to plan and align the development strategy, and demonstrate technical results / issues to executives.

B.S. degree in Optical, EE, or Mechanical Engineering or Related Discipline minimum required plus 10 years relevant industry experience.Experience in driving technology development projects in R&D environment or similar early-phase stages.Experience in designing, building and optimizing optical and opto-mechanical systems and prototypes.Experience in process development, characterization, and data analysis to enable, improve and realize new design architectures.
