Apple is currently seeking an enthusiastic team player to join a dynamic and collaborative group as a CAD Simulation Engineer on a human factors design team. You’ll have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development and continuing improvement of Apple hardware products by driving research in measurement, analysis, and modeling from a human interaction perspective.
As a member of this team-oriented, collaborative group, you will be working on the latest, most innovative Apple products together with many cross-functional teams.
Your responsibilities will include the following activities:
Write scripts to pre-process and handle data from various sources and formats using statistical analysis and visualization tools.
Process, clean, and verify the integrity of 3D data. Investigate new sources that can extend and improve insights.
Develop human-device computational models to accurately simulate product interaction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help identify statistical analysis and visualizations tools to understand and distill the diversity and variability of human morphology.
Create custom visualizations that help decision makers quickly understand the data.
The role will require close collaboration with human factor design engineers, computer vision scientists, biomechanists, data scientists, and product engineers with many opportunities to practice and grow communication skills. You’ll have a lot of latitude to define how you work; specific tools matter less than the lateral thinking they enable. This is a truly unique opportunity that exposes you to many different teams at Apple.
Ideal candidates have experience analyzing and visualizing statistical analysis and providing clear and concise feedback to teams in a timely manner. Candidates are enthusiastic about designing user studies that leverage motion capture, photogrammetry, force/pressure transducers and other electro-mechanical sensors/systems. Most importantly, a great passion for creating informative visualizations and presentations to communicate results to all levels of the company.
