Amazon Photos helps consumers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Show and Echo Spot.
Amazon Photos is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Storytelling team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the future of Amazon Photos in terms of affecting our large customer base and providing more complex and fulfilling storytelling experiences. Key job responsibilities
– You will work on a team building new experiences / features to bring joy to our customer base.
– You will be developing new features on frontend stacks in Swift, Kotlin and React Native
– When given a business problem, you create a technical strategy and deliver with limited guidance.
– You have a high attention to detail, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to drive measurable results.
– You successfully launch software for the business and resolve architectural deficiencies.
– You contribute to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices on your team.
About the team
The storytelling team curates joyful photographic customer moments and weaves them into majestic short video(s) to help them relive their experiences. We use an assortment of Machine Learning techniques to bring the best curated photos to the fore, from which we vend these photo collections to our highly performance apps in Web, iOS, Android and FireTV. These Apps are developed using cutting edge frontend stacks in Swift, Kotlin and React Native and are used by a large customer base. We operate at large scales using best of breed backend services and we move fast to delight our customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
