Join Apple’s Messages Services and Security team as an engineer responsible for designing and ensuring the robustness of Messages’ core delivery and security features. Our team is dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences, as Messages is a crucial platform for secure global connections. Work on building features like Sticker Tapbacks, Send Later, sending Apple Cash through iMessage, Satellite messaging to bring rich experiences to off-grid communication, and working on carrier services like RCS. You will have the opportunity to work closely with partner teams in Telephony, IdentityServices, iCloud, Wallet, image and video codec teams, and many more. You’ll also have the opportunity to be at the forefront of Messages security, working on BlastDoor—a technology that promotes the isolation and sandboxing of untrusted data as it arrives through various Messages services. As an engineer on the Messages Services and Security team, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing end-to-end protocols for innovative new Messages features
• Developing maintainable Swift frameworks, such as BlastDoor, to significantly improve service reliability and security
• Building infrastructure for safe data handling to prevent against zero-click attacks that don’t require user interaction
• Creating testable code to rigorously test changes and ensure consistent quality over time
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to build exciting new user experiences
• Work on the protocols that build iMessage, Messages via Satellite, Emergency SOS via Satellite, Messages for Business, SMS Relay, and RCS

2-3 years experience in the industryStrong object-oriented development and design skillsThe ability to adapt quickly to new technical environmentsA passion for modular, maintainable, testable codeExperience with system concepts including multi-threaded processing, synchronization, and interprocess communication
