The Inventory Control Manager plans, directs, organizes and controls Inventory Control activities required in maintaining the highest standards of inventory accuracy and efficiencies for the Apple Americas Logistics distribution network to include our third-party logistics partners (3PLs). You will interact directly with Apple Finance to manage inventory control activities in support of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. You must be a stitcher who drives deep relationships and an influencer who uses their deep understanding of complex systems, to deliver executive level quantitative analysis. This Inventory Control (IC) Manager is responsible for managing the performance of Apple and its third-party logistics vendors (3PLs) against standards, documented process controls, inventory control, reverse logistics (RMA), in-transit inventory management and implementation of new business processes. The IC Manager must build relationships and influence key decisions to improve third party logistics partners (3PLs) KPI’s and how they achieve them.
-Identify opportunities to gain the highest level of performance from team members
-Monitor 3PL KPIs, maintain effective action plans for underperformance, and partner internally and externally to resolve inventory issues
-Bridge Finished Goods, Retail and AppleCare 3PLs to shared common goals and KPIs while simplifying the support across DC Ops.
-Oversee a group of vendors, 3PLs, distribution centers, and/or programs; $100-200M annual spend, 2-6 3PL providers.
– Recruit, Retain, Mentor development of Individual Contributors (above) as direct reports. Team size: 5-8.
-Compare inventory between Apple ERP system and 3PL WMS to ensure systems match at all times, identify discrepancies and assign root causes, partner with appropriate teams to resolve, and develop solutions to prevent future discrepancies
-Monitor EDI failures, assign root causes, and leverage management systems to track system solutions to reduce failure instances
-Review adjustment requests and associated root causes/corrective actions to minimize future adjustments.
Bachelors degree in supply chain, analytics, logistics, or related field7+ years experience in inventory control and/or logistics5+ years experience managing and evaluating teams and/or individuals to achieve business and individual goalsSolid understanding of processes relating to shipping, receiving, carrier exceptions, inventory control, reverse logistics and financial accounting practicesMust be systems literate in both Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) systems (SAP preferred)Experience in a customer facing supplier role or supplier management experience.Must be willing to travel anywhere in the Americas region as required in support of operational functions
