DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
As the Business Intelligence Engineer for the Operations Program Management team you will develop and implement ideas that drive continuous improvement and streamline production of our satellite technology.
Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with multiple production teams to understand their challenges and provide data/analysis for better decision making. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
• Learn and understand a broad range of Kuiper’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use.
• Assist in the development of key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement.
• Build self-service reporting platforms, establishing automated processes for large scale data analysis.
• Understand and write high quality queries to retrieve and analyze data (ongoing reporting and adhoc requests).
• Define analytical approaches and metrics strategy to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve productivity.
• Manage the local data infra-structure, and develop scalable solutions for data storage.
• Simplify and automate reporting solutions.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. You will tackle challenging, novel business problems every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams of Kuiper.
You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven’t been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.
About the team
The Operations Analytics Team (OAT) was established to develop end-to-end analytics products. That includes both tools and insights for ProdOps leadership and functional teams. OAT products are to be used as “single source of truth” insights and metrics that production teams drive performance with. The OAT team works in parallel with the Kuiper Production PMO office to coordinate actions and release analytics products across all Kuiper teams.
