As a Sr. Category Manager, you will drive the customer experience and selection strategy within the Beverages category. You will develop a deep understanding of our consumers’ needs in brick and mortar and translate them into winning long-term strategies for growth. Additionally, you will work with internal partners and negotiate with vendors to optimize selection, pricing, and overall profitability.
In addition to delivering the business goals, you will work across the organization with tech teams, store operations, finance, design, legal, and product management to build processes that will act as a foundation for the Amazon Go business. These processes will impact customers, integrate with Amazon Go technology, and support in-store procedures.
The successful Senior Category Manager must be able to:
– Act as the ‘business owner’ for his/her categories
– Responsible for translating business and customer insights to establish a success strategic direction for the category
– Owns P&L for category and identifies and implements scalable revenue and margin improvements
– Initiate, structure, negotiate for partnership with both new and existing merchants. Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch, and long-term operations.
– Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines
– This role will require a willingness to dive into the details, solve new problems as they arise, be comfortable with ambiguity, and look around corners while always obsessing over customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of with Excel experience
– Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
– Experience with business analysis and P&L management
– Experience in account management, project/program management, or buying
– Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
– Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience using data to influence business decisions
– Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
– Experience in the Food industry or Retail industry, experience dealing with food service vendors

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
