The Senior Manager is responsible for leading a team of cross-cutting technical program managers to ensure satellite and ground systems are developed and deployed on-time and meet or exceed all requirements. The Senior Manager contributes directly as a Technical Program Manager while managing a team. This role includes direct responsibility for system level development, integration, test, and program management. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with integrated hardware and software development as well as some appreciation for complex applications. You will have significant influence over the design and the test approach we take to develop the system.

• Perform Technical Program Management of communication systems, satellite systems and ground systems including complex interdependencies between hardware, software, and test.
• Manage a team of Technical Program Managers related to communication systems leveraging satellite and ground systems. Responsible for the team development and growth.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to create project execution plans for systems development.
• Develop and manage technical requirements and interfaces that tie to system level requirements. Execute verification and validation planning and reviews.
• In collaboration with the engineering and supply chain teams, take ownership of the periodic business reviews and mechanism.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
• Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the systems development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
• Drive best Program Management practices for the team and organization at large including risk management, requirements management, verification and validation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including antenna & RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, test, integration, reliability, compliance/regulatory, verification, qualification, manufacturing, program management, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of management experience leading cross functional programs with aggressive schedules.
7+ years of experience with communication systems, verification, validation, Mechanical/Structural, Mechanism, Electrical Power Distribution, Communications, Flight Software, etc, design and/or management in critical applications.
5+ years of project/program management and experience with schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on working experience in spacecraft systems for all different phases of missions: initial design, development, test, delivery, launch and operation.
Track record of successfully delivering complete spacecraft systems on time, to scope, with high quality.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
Ability to show judgment and lead and influence others.
Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
