DESCRIPTION
Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) is looking for software development engineers to help us build the future of cloud storage. Are you interested in building storage systems that provide fault tolerant, high performance, durable storage “in the cloud”? Do you enjoy solving real world customer issues and complex technical problems at a large scale using a wide range of technologies? We are building an AWS service that will enable customers to build the next level of storage experience.
Key job responsibilities
As an engineer, you will have an opportunity to work on high performance secure software solutions, kernel mode drivers, user space processes, utilize and integrate with multiple AWS services. You will get the opportunity to architect large-scale distributed systems, design for availability and performance, solve real time software problems and innovate to increase hardware resource utilization to improve costs for our customers. There will be multiple opportunities to work at different levels in the storage and networking stack while pushing on the latest innovations to set industry standards. The ideal candidate would possess analytical, design, problem solving skills and experience in building & operating large scale systems. You will work closely with a tight, agile team that ships often, iterates quickly and takes pride in the product they deliver.
We are looking for engineers with the following skills/experience:
– Real time embedded systems, C, C++, Device Drivers
– Linux/Windows kernel modules and file systems, – storage hardware or virtualization technologies
– Networking and/or Storage Domain experience
– Multithreaded concurrent processing
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
