DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and experienced Keynote Writer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will inspire audiences through compelling narratives and presentations for high-profile events, such as re:Invent. This position requires a unique blend of creative writing skills, technical knowledge, and strategic thinking to effectively communicate AWS’s vision, products, and services to diverse audiences.

This position will sit in Seattle, WA USA only. Relocation offered to this location only from within the USA only.

Key job responsibilities
– Collaborate closely with executives, product teams, and stakeholders to identify key topics and themes for keynote presentations and major events.
– Develop and write engaging, clear, and impactful messaging that aligns with AWS’s brand voice and strategic objectives.
– Create compelling storylines and narratives that effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
– Write and edit scripts for keynote speeches, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging across various presentations.
– Develop visually appealing and informative slide decks that support and enhance the keynote content.
– Work with design and video teams to conceptualize and create multimedia elements, including videos, animations, and interactive demos.
– Attend rehearsals and provide real-time feedback and adjustments to speakers and content.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
– Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
– Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
– Experience in speechwriting, preferably in the technology sector and working with C-level executives.
– Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing, emerging technologies, and the overall tech industry landscape.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Proficiency in PowerPoint
– Familiarity with AWS products and services
– Background in technical writing or journalism
– Experience with video scripting and production

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
