DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced PR Specialist & Project Manager to support Communications & Corporate Responsibility (CCR) economic impact research and public relations to help tell these stories and shine a light on the positive impacts Amazon has in the communities where we invest and operate.
This dual-role will project manage research and impact reporting, including (1) economic impact, including overseeing external and internal research projects and working with marketing and owned channels teams to produce data-heavy, science-based storytelling; and (2) supporting and executing against PR plans and strategy in support of Amazon’s economic impact narrative. Specifically, this person will support the team through proactive storytelling, media relations, coordination between internal Amazon PR teams and more—this will include writing talking points, messaging and/or blog posts, providing day-to-day support to teams, and thinking big on cross-Amazon collaboration. This person should be able to work autonomously as well as with a team, coordinating with various internal stakeholders and partners around the world to identify opportunities to generate positive stories and work closely with public relations, public policy, and economic development teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage the long-term scoping of global economic impact reports and supporting assets and collateral.
• Develop and present project plans that outline the timelines, stakeholder responsibilities, key milestones, resources, and budget.
• Anticipate workload and resources needed for a successful project, create and maintain work back schedules and calendars, and hold status update meetings.
• Identify and remove blockers that prevent the team from accomplishing goals.
• Work cross-functionally to develop and manage project briefs and provide feedback on deliverables to ensure they meet the objective and raise the bar.
• Write and execute communications plans and press materials in support of announcements to pitch and secure media coverage.
• Drive proactive media coverage and help manage reactive media inquiries.
• Write, develop, and manage approvals for communications and external messaging.
• Proven business judgment as well as strategic and analytical capabilities
• Ability to anticipate issues and take proactive steps to prevent and/or resolve them
• Ability to multi-task in a very fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Solid influential skills and ability to work successfully with peers; a team player
• Positive, collaborative, flexible attitude balanced with a strong sense of pragmatism
• Proven ability to identify better ways of working at scale through building new mechanisms and processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree
– 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
– Demonstrated ability to manage multiple team and projects, prioritization, planning, and task delegation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Understanding of public relations and public policy functions, including the use of data to tell stories using strong written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
