Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to play a key role on our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization to align on critical inputs, ranges of outcomes, and confidence intervals. This is a high judgment role that requires someone who can execute without structured guidance, navigate ambiguity, and effectively deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
– Serve as a FP&A finance partner to AWS Solutions SVP, a very high visibility role
– Lead, re-imagine, and re-define key cadence processes that help business leaders understand progress to goals as well as strategic insights to guide overall direction.
– Help develop metrics for WBR and MFR
– Identify ways to simplify legacy processes and mechanisms through automation.
– Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management.
– Create new processes based on the SVP feedback
A day in the life
In this role, you will challenge the status quo of our existing processes and mechanisms around core FP&A deliverables, with an aim on simplification and insights.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
– Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
– Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
– 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
– 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
– 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
– MBA, or CPA
– Knowledge of SQL/ETL
– 6+ years of experience in multiple/multi-faceted finance and accounting roles
– 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
– 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
