Amazon.com is seeking a creative, high judgement, well-connected and self-motivated Public Relations (PR) professional, with a depth of experience and understanding of the U.S. Hispanic consumer media markets to join our communications team.

Reporting into the U.S. Hispanic consumer retail PR lead, this role will partner and collaborate with key business leaders to imagine, co-develop, and execute communications programs across a number of Amazon’s retail categories and services. The ideal candidate is creative, scrappy and results-oriented, with excellent communications skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. This individual will manage proactive and reactive media relations campaigns and influencer engagements to drive awareness of Amazon among the Hispanic community. The ideal candidate is active in this community as a public relations professional with a deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic consumer media landscape and key influencers. This individual has existing media relationships, experience developing and leading meaningful public relations programs, high standards under tight deadlines, and be flexible to manage ambiguity as priorities change.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and manage strategic public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazon among Hispanic consumers in the U.S.
• Build strong relationships with media and influencers
• Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson in Spanish-language interviews
• Train and manage spokespeople at all levels for external facing communications including press and speaking opportunities
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges
• Deliver strategic communications counsel to Amazon executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities
• Help manage an external public relations agency on strategy and day-to-day matters
• Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to create 360 campaigns
• Ability to travel within the US as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree
– 4+ years of experience in Public Relations, preferably in consumer PR
– Hispanic market experience
– Fluent in English and Spanish, written and verbal

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Public Relations experience preferably in consumer tech, ideally with some PR agency experience
– Network of Hispanic media contacts and a deep understanding of what stories resonate with them
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both Spanish and English
– Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
– Exercises good judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
– Strong organizational and analytical skills, and outstanding attention to detail
– Creativity and bias for action
– Ability to successfully partner with teammates located around the world

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $51,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $110,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
