Want to help Earth’s most customer-centric company design, implement, and monitor risk mitigation strategies to improve the customer experience and protect Amazon’s brand?

In this role, you will work closely with Amazon’s Last Mile transportation businesses to build, execute, and operationalize strategic initiatives and frameworks to evaluate carrier financial performance against expectations. With your proven ability to influence across multiple organizations, you will apply finance and accounting concepts to new and existing business models, clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership, and partner with cross-functional teams to design workflows that provide world-class, customer-centric, financial review solutions and process improvements. You will seamlessly blend strategy, operations, and analysis to drive business changes that reduce risk. This role will require the ability to influence without authority, high-level strategic thinking to deep-dive, and analytical problem solving while thinking big. You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and enjoy working on different problems every day.

This position requires the ability to travel periodically.

Key job responsibilities
– Ability to define, develop, manage, and implement cross-functional risk programs, ensuring successful delivery and driving improvements with quantified metrics.
– Ability to develop and refine program strategies, effectively leading, monitoring, and motivating teams to drive projects through to completion on time.
– Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.
– Demonstrable excellent communication skills (written and verbal), regularly communicating with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
– Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills, effective prioritization, and leveraging data and insights to drive business decisions.
– Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.
– Ability to collect, analyze and manage quantitative data, creating meaningful reports and models to lead support

A day in the life
The Sr. Financial Review Manager will engage with carrier partners, internal stakeholders, partner teams, and cross functional team members to plan, scope, execute, support, and report on financial outcomes, while delivering strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. The Sr. Financial Review Manager will also consult with business, legal, and tech teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, financial review solutions and process improvements.

The individual will work effectively in a team environment and, as an individual contributors, and be able to work remotely and effectively review the work of other remote team members.

Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazon’s transportation businesses across 16 regions. We proactively identify and manage risks through risk mitigation strategies and provide assurance that Amazon and our carrier partners comply with the highest transportation and legal standards (including legislative, regulatory, and contractual). Anchored by sound subject matter expertise, processes, and growing technology solutions, our TRC leaders improve public safety and enable business growth as we work diligently to serve our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Master’s degree or equivalent
– Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
– Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
– Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, etc.)
– Technical aptitude and familiarity with complex databases and data analytics tools.
– Experience with SQL and Excel, Microsoft Power Query, Power BI, and Power Pivot
– 6+ years of program requirements definition, and experience leveraging data and metrics to drive improvements experience
– 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with quantifiable impact (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
– Bilingual in Spanish and English – proficient in reading, writing and speaking in both languages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
