The Senior Operations Engineer for AZML Energy within GFP will have the responsibility for developing and implementing technical solutions for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Emphasis will be on integrating technology into existing delivery station designs, influencing designs for scalability across the North America delivery station network, and ensuring adaptability for future technology development. This will require technical leadership and cross-functional influence, coordinating across AMZL design, Supply Chain, product teams, along with execution teams such as utilities, Pre-construction, and Construction. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of engineering leadership and innovation, and a demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of projects.
Key job responsibilities
– Partner with construction and design organizations to design, retrofit, and build new sites at scale to develop the electric powered delivery network of the future
– Solve complex, technical problems with simple, innovative, and practical solutions for electrical engineering power systems
– Develop and manage a portfolio of projects with multiple, complex, and concurrent projects
– Work with internal and external stakeholders to define program scope, identify appropriate resources needed, and streamline milestones to ensure timely completion of projects and initiatives
– Work effectively with senior leadership across multiple organizations and geographies
**Travel expectations will be approximately 20%
A day in the life
A successful Operations Engineer will collaborate with teammates to value engineer designs while managing third party architects and engineers to deliver optimal electrical delivery projects. In pursuit of improving the program, the operations engineer will also initiate, ideate, and gain buy-in from multiple stakeholders to drive one or more initiatives. The initiatives will vary in scope and can span incorporating technology advancements or streamlining engineering efforts to deliver the network of the future.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or technology
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project) at an advanced level
– 4+ years of experience in an engineering, construction management, technology development, or field/project engineering capacity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
– Experience working with and managing third party vendors
– Master’s degree in engineering, management, or technology
– Proven track record of delivering business critical initiatives or value engineering electrical engineering designs from concept through construction

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
