Talent Development Journey team’s mission is to make it easier for Amazonians to build rewarding careers in Amazon’s peculiar culture. To deliver on this mission, Talent Development tech team is building a talent development ecosystem (TDE) which empowers human judgement, action, and interaction to make it easier to learn and grow in Amazon’s peculiar culture. TDE enables authoring high quality content, delivering personalized learning experiences, and measuring proficiency at scale.

A Sr. Technical Program Manager in Talent Development will manage large scale distributed projects working with stakeholders within and outside of the Org. They will collaborate with technical and product peers to drive product and technical roadmaps. They will be the voice of customers and work with product and engineering peers to identify problems and deliver high quality solutions. They will have excellent organizational and communication skills to influence business and technical leaders in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• You will collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to define talent development roadmap and strategy.
• You will lead execution of software products and programs against project plans and launch commitments.
• You will deep dive on engineering design proposals to ensure that the team will not incur any tech debt.
• You will communicate complex business decisions effectively both verbally and in writing.
• You will be well-versed with the technical architecture to represent the team in technical discussions with stakeholders.
• You will build strong relationships with stakeholders and earn their trust through transparency.
• You will dive deep into our customers business to understand pain points and future needs.
• Your business decisions and technical judgement will be backed with strong data.
• You will establish effective mechanism to drive business and technical alignment with your engineering team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
– 3+ years of software development experience
– 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
– Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
