Would you like to become part of the team that is defining the way technology is migrated and modernized for Public Sector organizations? Would you like to engage with senior business and technical leaders of companies to help them achieve extensive business value and better serve their customers by migrating and modernizing their existing workloads to AWS? Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) Migration team working with SLG+EDU Customers and Partners who are migrating and modernizing workloads to AWS.

In this role you will be supporting customer and partner engagement for migrating existing technology assets to AWS. You will have an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver the sales motion for migrations with Public Sector organizations. You will be responsible for leading go-to-market motions with creating scalable mechanisms to support migration initiatives, contributing to the public sector migration and modernization strategy. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with the AWS teams, AWS partners, and AWS customers to describe the business opportunity for migrating and modernizing as well as aligning resources that have been developed to help customers achieve their outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring both technical delivery and business development skills/interests to this position. They will have a combination of strong presentation skills, a proven record in operating and mechanizing scaled initiatives, experience interacting with stakeholders across teams, strong writing skills, a natural inclination to both articulate and deliver measurable outcomes. The candidate should have the ability to evaluate use cases, trends, patterns, and best practices that enable them to develop forward thinking initiatives. The candidate should be open to new challenges, strong at multi-tasking, self-direct in complex situations, and act as a team player.

Candidates should drive continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

Key job responsibilities
– Serve as a key member of the WWPS Migration Advisor team in helping to shape and deliver the overall migration strategy.
– Develop scalable motions working internal stakeholders (Partner & Account Teams) to leverage MAP programmatic resources to develop migrations and assist in moving the large migration pipeline through the various stages
– Create supporting mechanisms and iterate on processes to enable the scaling of public sector migrations
– Establish success metrics, evaluate and report on impact to the migrations business

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– Experience developing, implementing, managing and executing field programs.
– Experience working with State/Local Government and Education customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience setting up and managing a sales pipeline
– 5+ years of experience in technology transformation, with more recent experiences in cloud-led technology change program.
– Strong communication and presentation skills.
– Experience with Public Sector organizations.
– An MBA is desired; technical background with Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background is highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
