DESCRIPTION
The Seller External Relations (SER) team is responsible for ensuring that Amazon’s stores are a great place for third-party sellers, especially for small businesses, to build and maintain thriving businesses. The team engage with third party sellers to amplify their stories and voices externally and advocate for them internally to ensure the intended and perceived seller experience mirrors the reality. Our team provides customized education to small businesses to enable them to grow and succeed in Amazon’s store while also connecting them with various resources and tools.
This role requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, exceptional writing and communication skills in both languages, public speaking and program management experience, excellent judgement, and strong interpersonal skills while being customer obsessed. We are ideally seeing a candidate who has familiarity with selling in Amazon’s store and event management experience to plan and execute small business educational events with our internal and external partners, create and manage presentation content, and present that content in an engaging and authentic manner to various audiences. Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent organizational skills are critical to success in this role.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders in supporting virtual and/or in person events that require a public speaker, you will create, manage, optimize, and update presentation content regularly based on program changes and customer feedback, you will execute and manage events to include all components of event planning and retrospectives, plus you will manage the team’s educational programming calendar. This position will have the unique opportunity to help drive success for small businesses through direct, public engagement.
The ideal candidate has experience working with all levels of leaders, subject matter experts, and VIPs while having event and program management experience with a strong understanding of how to sell in Amazon’s store. They are an experienced facilitator and public speaker with great executive presence and are comfortable working across various internal and external stakeholders. Maturity, strong business judgment, ability to multitask, excellent organizational skills, capacity to earn trust and influence cross-functional teams, a customer-centric and creative mindset, and strong analytical skills are essential. The candidate embraces ambiguity and ramps up quickly on complex issues. They thrive creating virtual and in-person experiences that drive connection and help enable small business success. They will utilize their attention to detail, experience in public speaking, program management, event execution, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure high quality results.
Key job responsibilities
* Create and manage educational presentations in Spanish, to include updating on a regular cadence to incorporate any program changes and customer feedback
*Execute events, including event programming, managing event logistics, evaluating the programmatic roadmap to determine necessary event support, maintaining inventory, etc.
* Manage the team’s event programming calendar to ensure we are maximizing our impact while remaining efficient
* Define requirements, program goals, and opportunities for improvement within our processes for engagement with third-party organizations
* Ability to travel and support educational events across the United States
* Create, optimize, and drive adoption of critical mechanisms required to ensure long-term expansion and success while properly tracking key program metrics
* Work with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate and effective content for third-party engagements
* Deliver post mortem event retrospective with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, speaker performance, and improvement recommendations for future events
* Drive and deliver best practice and process improvement documents
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of program or project management experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
– Speak, write, and read fluently in English
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
– 2+ years of public speaking experience
– Ability to travel as necessary in the U.S.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree
– Experience working with Amazon.com sellers and/or deep understanding of selling in Amazon’s store
– Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities
– Demonstrated executive presence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to influence others
– Ability to anticipate potential reputational issues and exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time frames
– Experience supporting event messaging and programming and an understanding of event production best practices and workflows
– Strong analytic approach and bias for data-based judgment
– Experience leveraging customer insights to drive decisions
– Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional organization
