Sr. Product Manager, Technical, Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator – USA, WA, Seattle

Amazon

  • Full Time

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced PMT to own and drive our classification and identification product portfolio and roadmap for small and underserved businesses. The ideal candidate thrives in an ambiguous environment, excels at identifying gaps and opportunities, is highly analytical, an excellent communicator – both written and verbal, and can work cross-functionally across both technical and non-technical teams.

Key job responsibilities
The person in this role is responsible for building and maintaining a repository of small and underserved businesses with the primary goal of fueling growth for sellers through discoverability products, marketing campaigns, and seller benefits. This repository is also intended to serve as the single source of truth at Amazon for small and underserved business data for any other teams’ needs. Within their scope, they own and refine the technical infrastructure that identifies, classifies, stores and vends small and underserved business data at scale. This role will think critically about the definition of what constitutes small and underserved businesses, trading off classification needs from multiple stakeholders across Amazon, and considering how customers define these types of businesses.

The role is technically complex because of how we currently collect data today. We built a dataset through a machine learning model, called the Small Business Classification Model (SBCM), which this person would own in partnership with our science partner. We also rely on a third-party dataset from Dun & Bradstreet, which we ingest. And third, we manage an international team that audits data. We are building another channel to ingest data, where selling partners can self identify certain criteria about themselves.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
– Experience managing technical products or online services
– Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
– Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
– Master’s degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
– Experience working on machine learning models and large predictive datasets.
