DESCRIPTION
As a UX Designer II supporting the Devices Customer Insights and UX team you will own the Premium Online Shopping Experience for helping customers as they evaluate Amazon Devices companion products in areas of bundles, upsell, subscriptions and installments.
You will tackle challenging customer problems and work to design best-in-class consumer experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and company leaders to successfully go from early stage concepts to launch, and support new Amazon Device launches as cutting-edge technology is released to the public.
The ideal candidate for this position will be at ease visualizing an experience in the abstract and translating design visions into solid design deliverables that achieve customer goals and business requirements. Informed by research and data, you will be able to explore multiple design solutions to a given problem or feature, and communicate those solutions visually through sketches, user flows, wireframes, functional prototypes, and/or high-fidelity designs, as necessary.

Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate and work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering teams from design
concept to design solution, setting UX guidelines, creating assets, and aiding in bug fixes to ensure
bar-raising quality all the way to market.
• Create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and
associated UI framework and assets on a range of products; follow through with the processes and
tactics to fulfill the vision.
• Use various inputs to identify and define exciting new concepts, opportunities, and customer
problems.
• Collaborate with the product management team to develop a shared vision of a
product and then lead a process to define the experience and design to deliver on the product’s
objectives.
• Work strategically with team members and leaders across the organization, leveraging a user centric and data driven approach to driving consensus and decision making.
• Create pattern libraries, templates, and tools for a variety of users on our platform.
• Identify and utilize common patterns for mobile, desktop, and e-commerce platforms.
• Consider how emerging technologies can unlock new customer experiences and scale business operations.
• Consider the internal tooling required to support front-end customer experiences.
• Inspire, mentor, and lead designers across the UX team, and teach/model human centered design
processes to partner teams.
• Develop and nurture relationships across the team, Amazon, and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency on Amazon projects.
A day in the life
As a Sr. UX Designer in the Devices Customer Insights and UX Team, your day to day can vary widely, however general daily activities will include driving brainstorms with cross-functional team members, crafting a design vision to go alongside a PR/FAQ, influencing trade-off conversations with product and engineering partners, and raising the CX bar on the implementation of your designs or during BRD reviews. You will share and present your designs at varying levels of fidelity to peers, partners, and leadership to get guidance and feedback, and dive deep into user research and insights to drive strategic conversations that will help you to influence team roadmaps, and drive design solutions to complex and ambiguous problems. You will be encouraged to learn new skills, and mentor other UX designers who seek your guidance and support.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of design experience
– 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
– Have an available online portfolio
– Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
– Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
