We are looking for a dynamic HR professional to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Human Resources team supporting the AI&Data and Databases Organization within the larger Utility Computing organization.
This role will wear a dual hat of Sr. HRBP and Sr. Program Manager role. As Sr. HRBP, they will support 3-4 Directors in the DynamoDB, Transactional Services and Keyspaces organization. Amazon DynamoDB is one of AWS’s primary database technologies, and its Storage organization is central to its mission of enabling customers to develop modern applications at any scale. Meanwhile, the Transactional Services organization develops several foundational technologies that underpin and enable all of AWS.
As a Sr. Program Manager, this role drives strategy and execution for the entire AI&Data and Databases organization across important business focus areas including Organizational Health and effectiveness, Workforce planning, Location strategy and more. They will also lead the development and execution of the HR Team operational mechanisms and partner closely with the AI&Data and Databases HR team to develop and execute on strategies.
To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and goals and translate them into the highest impact work. You’ll help business leaders look around corners with recommendations based on data that improve organizational effective and builder experience. Ability to facilitate change management for large organizations within a rapid and complex changing work environment, create efficiencies, and make sound judgement in ambiguous situations are critical to the success of this role. Success will also require an aptitude to dive deep and analyze data to develop meaningful insights and conclusions, and to be able to present clearly and with purpose to the relevant audience.
Key job responsibilities
· Develop and implement people plans and solutions in order to achieve people initiatives and deliver results for the global specialist organization.
· Partner with leaders and their leadership teams to develop the talent strategy needed to support our tremendous growth, and build a work environment where employees can thrive and grow.
· Working closely with specialist central HR teams, as well as matrixed site and international HR colleagues, keep the right focus on assessing the HR needs in areas such as performance management, talent acquisition, career development, diversity and compensation/rewards.
· Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders and their respective organizations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans.
· Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
· Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
· Partner with the business to lead our Organization and Leadership Review, which focuses on succession planning, talent development and organizational health priorities.
· Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.
· Work with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.
· Partner with the AWS talent acquisition team to build systemic and scalable recruiting programs to create a sustainable pipeline of talent. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate.

• Create, deploy, and scale programmatic solutions based on current and potential future needs, in the fast paced, high growth business unit. Drive HR process and tool innovation for scale and efficiency

Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
· 7+ years of experience in an HR generalist leadership role
· Strong judgment and experience coaching leaders.
· Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, learning, and performance management.
· Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation, data visualization, and facilitation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Human Resources or MBA
5+ years’ experience working as a business partner, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for global organization teams
· Work experience in the tech industry
· Experience in highly matrixed organization
· Experience leading global HR programs and related change management
· Ability to diagnose issues and drive appropriate strategic solutions with self-initiative
· Ability to refine strategy and gain buy-in by influencing and partnering with different levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
