DESCRIPTION
Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) is looking for a Principal Supply Chain Manager with fuels/energy experience to lead our low-carbon fuel strategy in NA.
You will develop and implement a plan to diversify and decarbonize 3P transportation network supply across air, on-road and maritime applications. We are looking for someone excited by sustainability and eager to drive low-carbon fuel opportunities that bring Amazon closer to achieving its Climate Pledge.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the low-carbon fuels industry (or conventional fuels with a strong understanding of decarbonization), a proven track record of leading successful sustainability projects, knowledge of the transportation and/or logistics industry, and familiarity with the policy landscape World Wide.
Additionally, this candidate has the ability to think strategically, navigate complex and ambiguous challenges, manage multiple large-scale projects across different technologies and stakeholder groups, and collaborate and influence effectively. Experience with fuel suppliers and contracting/delivering energy solutions for transportation are also advantages.
Key job responsibilities
– Become a Sustainability Champion: Guide and advise procurement leaders on how to reduce emissions, plan their negotiation strategy and secure resources for low-carbon fuels.
– Lead Cutting-Edge Projects: Develop and implement large-scale investments in low-carbon fuels, tackling the toughest emissions challenges in Amazon’s 3P transportation network.
– Shape the Future of Sustainability: Engage in public-private partnerships and industry coalitions to unlock innovative solutions in the low-carbon fuel industry.
– Bridge the Gap Between Policy and Business: Partner with Amazon’s World-Wide Ops Sustainability Team and internal 3P Decarb teams to identify key policy opportunities and ensure alignment across teams on our sustainability goals.
– Share your Low-Carbon Fuel Expertise: Build your expertise in low-carbon fuels and their value chain. You’ll be the go-to person for Procurement Leaders in GSCTP, sharing your knowledge and mentoring others.
– Develop and mentor subject matter experts (SMEs) across the company, fostering a culture of sustainability and accelerating Amazon’s decarbonization.
– Be the face of the business, engaging externally with 3P vendors on their decarb data collection processes and implementation strategies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
– 7+ years of program or project management experience
– 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
– 7+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
– 10+ years of supply chain experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
– Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
